JoBlo has been given an exclusive clip from Prevenge and we couldn’t not share it with you. The clip shows the film’s leading killer lady Ruth (Alice Lowe) sitting through a hellish job interview. They’re terrible enough, but when you combine a job interview with being pregnant with possibly the spawn of Satan, it’s a real nightmare. Check it out below and enjoy the clip’s effortless blend of horror and comedy.
Synopsis:
Prevenge follows Ruth, a pregnant woman on a killing spree. It’s her misanthropic unborn baby dictating Ruth’s actions, holding society responsible for the absence of a father. The child speaks to Ruth from the womb, coaching her to lure and ultimately kill her unsuspecting victims. Struggling with her conscience, loneliness, and a strange strain of prepartum madness, Ruth must ultimately choose between redemption and destruction at the moment of motherhood.
We thought the film was a pretty great chic twist on ‘70s grindhouse, but faltered with its wafer-thin screenplay. As a directorial debut from Lowe, it’s a solid start, but we do look forward to future endeavours from the director that feature a stronger and more emotive storyline.
