Fans were devastated when USA and SyFy announced the cancellation of the Chucky TV series in 2024.
The show took the iconic killer doll and all his wacky lore to television, and to date, has been one of the most successful horror properties to make the leap.
With the cancellation, many feared the end was nye for Chucky, or at the very least, the character would be absent from screens for a while.
However, according to franchise star Jennifer Tilly, that’s not the case…
Speaking recently, Tilly, who plays the killer doll’s partner in crime Tiffany Valentine, teased more was ahead soon:
“The television series just ended, but I know for a fact there is more Chucky and Tiffany in the works. The gruesome twosome.”
Tilly didn’t elaborate on what the newest Chucky project would be, but it’s safe to assume we’re in for another feature. Before its move to television, Chucky had found a profitable niche with direct-to-DVD offerings. The sequels Curse of Chucky and Cult of Chucky did impressive business in the home media market, and continue to be popular via streaming.
Tilly’s statement echoes what Chucky franchise creator Don Mancini said following the cancellation of the television series, promising there was always room for more Chucky antics:
“The Chucky franchise has always prioritised story continuity, across different media, for decades. You WILL see your favourites again.”
We’ll keep an eye on all things Chucky related and report back with any further developments as soon as we can!
