She’s known as the ultimate Scream Queen, so many wondered upon the 2022 release of Halloween Ends, was Jamie Lee Curtis done with genre work?
Thankfully, with the announcement of her latest project, we know that the answer is a firm no.
Curtis is set to star in and produce Sender, from first-time writer-director Russell Goldman. The feature is based on Goldman’s 2022 short Return to Sender, which Curtis also produced.
According to an official logline, Sender will follow:
“a woman who experiences an e-commerce package delivery scam that becomes so personal and disturbing that she becomes hellbent on discovering the identity of her anonymous sender.”
Currently, it is unknown what role Curtis will play; however, Severance star Britt Lower is currently attached to play the lead role. Curtis and Lower will be joined by actor David Dastmalchian, who received raves for his turn in 2024’s Late Night with the Devil.
Curtis will produce via her Comet Pictures label, with Sender currently being repped by Verve Ventures in hopes of finding worldwide distribution.
Of her latest project, Curtis had the following to say:
“I am so proud to be a part of Russell’s first movie, the first of many. The little seed that Comet Pictures planted has now grown into a feature filled with talented artists surrounding a new and exciting filmmaker.”
Hopefully we’ll have more on this project for you soon. But, in the meantime, you can check out Goldman’s original short film below:
