It’s happening! The cast for It: Chapter 2 is beginning to grow with two new additions in James McAvoy and Bill Hader. They are currently in talks to join Jessica Chastain, who is to play an adult Beverly Marsh, in the sequel that will mainly take place 20 years after the events of 2017’s Chapter 1.
If McAvoy and Hader accept the deal that they are offered, McAvoy will play the adult Bill Denbrough and Hader will be an older Richie Tozier. Bill is the “leader” of the Losers Club while Richie is the group comedian. The actors seem like good choice for their respective roles; Hader in particular who is known for his humorous performances in Tropic Thunder, Trainwreck and The Skeleton Twins.
The child actors from Chapter 1 are also expected to return, so expect to see more from the ‘80s setting in flashback sequences. Bill Skarsgard will also be returning to play the role of Pennywise the Clown.
It: Chapter 2 will be released on 6th September 2019 and will again be directed by Andy Muschietti, who directs a script written by Gary Dauberman.
