We don’t know if you can tell, but here at Scream, we’re very excited about the upcoming Christmas slasher It’s a Wonderful Knife.
So, we’re delighted to hear that the film has been given a hard R rating by the MPAA.
Said to contain “bloody violence, drug use and language,” we can’t think of anything more we’d want in a holiday slasher.
Furthermore, we got a brand-new poster, which positively screams holiday cheer!
It’s a Wonderful Knife takes a holiday classic and puts a darkly comic spin on it. Winnie is a young woman who saves her town from a massacre at the hands of their homicidal mayor on Christmas Eve. One year later, tired of being known for that one event and nothing else, Winnie wishes she was never born. Suddenly she is transported to a dimension wherein she never existed and her town has become a much darker place.
From Freaky writer Michael Kennedy, It’s a Wonderful Knife stars Yellowjackets’ Jane Widdop, Justin Long and Katherine Isabelle.
Looking poised to become the ultimate Christmas horror staple with a supremely festive atmosphere, the film will release to theatres November 10th after receiving rave reviews at Beyond Fest.
Following this, Shudder will make the movie available to stream from December 23rd. Sounds like the perfect holiday treat right before Santa arrives, wouldn’t you agree? Will you be headed to see this one on the big-screen? Or would you rather view It’s a Wonderful Knife at home with a cup of eggnog? Either way, it looks to be one full of holiday cheer and perfect for getting into the Christmas spirit.
