The feature film Half Dead Fred was spawned in Flint, Michigan by writer / Director Bron Theron.
Bron is a large scale mural artist that travels to Flint to participate in the the Flint Mural project ran by Joe Schipani.
Joe had written a book called Haunted Flint, which sparked the idea for the making of this horror film.
The story line is centred around the four story Victorian house that Joe lived in. The movie is a film-noir style with a paranormal vibe.
Half Dead Fred is about a medium detective who travels to Flint, Michigan to solve a murder and to find a treasure.
Production started in October of 2021 in Flint, Michigan. The leading man was Corin Nemec, a veteran in the film industry known for starring in his own show on fox called “Parker Lewis Can’t Lose” as well as “Stargate SG” and even feature films like “Tucker” and “The Stand”. The producers were able to cast several other actors with impressive resumes to be in this indie film. Jordan C. Michael ,Heidi Schooler, Tiffany Shepis, and Jason London to name a few. The production also hired many locals to be on camera and behind it. The film premiered at the renowned Capitol Theater in Flint, Michigan in August 2022, just 10 short months after filming began, and successfully brought in over 500 people in attendance. Since the movie was completed it has won many awards in different film festivals including best picture, best director, best supporting actress for Tiffany Shepis and Heidi Schooler, best cinema photography and many more.
The film is now available to view on Amazon, Apple TV, Tubi , and several other streaming platforms.
Even after its nationwide release, Half Dead Fred is actively pursuing a wider audience. The film is currently set to be premiered abroad on the big screen in Canada at the Markham International film festival in mid July and in England at the B Beside the Seaside Festival on August 5th. In addition, this movie includes an interactive drinking game that involves viewer participation, which follows in the footsteps of cult classics that enhances movie viewing experiences.
