Are you ready to head back into The Further?
Quite unexpectedly, Blumhouse Productions and Sony Pictures have announced a new chapter in the Insidious series will premiere August 29th 2025.
Sources were quick to confirm that this will be a sixth entry in the main franchise, and is not the previously mentioned spin-off Thread: An Insidious Tale. The latter was announced last year and is set to star Mandy Moore; however, updates have been sparse.
The announcement of a sixth entry comes almost one year after Insidious: The Red Door defied expectations, becoming the highest grossing entry in the franchise. With a final tally of $189 million, the Patrick Wilson-helmed flick was billed as the “final chapter” in the Lambert family saga.
So, if the studios are to keep to their word, this upcoming sixth instalment will blaze a new path alongside its spin-off.
However, nothing besides the release date is currently known. Given the somewhat small 15-month window between announcement and release, Blumhouse are clearly hoping for a quick turnaround.
