IFC has secured the US distribution rights to Lars Von Trier’s The House That Jack Built with plans to release the film in 2018. Hopefully an announcement regarding distribution in the UK and the rest of the world will follow shortly, because we want to see it too!
The House That Jack Built will be told from the perspective of a killer called Jack, played by Matt Dillon, over 10-12 years. We will follow Jack as a police intervention edges closer, threatening to put an end to his artwork of murder.
We’ve been extremely excited to see the The House That Jack Built, because like him personally or not, you can’t argue that Lar Von Trier’s films are anything but boring and are certain to spark debate. The first image we saw from the film showed a nod to fellow Danish director Carl Theodor Dreyer’s film Vampyr, an intriguing homage that only worked to heighten our anticipation for the release.
In addition to Dillon, the film features Oldboy antagonist Ji-tae Yu, Riley Keough, Uma Thurman, Bruno Ganz and Sofie Grabol. Look out The House That Jack Built in 2018.
