One of our favourite films to come out of last year’s TIFF Midnight Madness was the Turkish horror shocker Baskin, and we are pleased to report that it will be released on VOD and limited cinemas in the USA on 25th March, courtesy of IFC Midnight.
Sadly, those of us in the UK are still waiting on the edge of our seats to hear whether the film will get a release on this side of the pond. However, with it screening at the end of the month at Glasgow FrightFest, hopes are high on it securing a UK release pretty soon.
Directed by Can Evrenol and based on his short story of the same name, the synopsis is as follows:
It’s an easy night on patrol for Arda, Remzi and the rest of their police unit: a bit of cards, a bit of football, a bit of barbecue. They could never know what to expect when summoned out to support another group of cops at a remote building. And by the time they realise what they’re facing it will be far, far too late.
We love all that we’ve seen from Baskin so far; it looks brutally unique and downright terrifying. We hope all our readers in America will be sure to catch Baskin when it is released on 25th March 2016 – or you’ll be missing out on one of the most controversial and shocking films since 2008’s Martyrs.
