Hulu Working on Satanic Panic Series ‘Demons’

Posted on: March 22nd, 2018

The streaming service Hulu is developing a new series that will be set during the “Satanic Panic” of the ‘80s and ‘90s. The Satanic Panic began in the ‘80s after the infamous McMartin case, where a family was charged with sexual abuse. Allegations linked to satanic rituals arose, but no one was convicted. This lead to the so-called panic, which spread around the world throughout the ‘90s.

Hulu’s series will be called Demons and will follow Marilyn Jones and her husband Bennett Lewis as they investigate different satanic crimes in each episode. We imagine them to be similar to The Warrens from The Conjuring universe, but with Satanists rather than ghosts and demons.

The series has been written by Juliet Lashinsky-Revene, who has a handful of short films to her name. More as it comes!
