Three Dots’ INTERPOINT released in Early Access in April 2019, but the team is set to release a major update that has been in the works for well over a year.
“Our approach to development did not give the results we expected, and the only right decision was to rethink the project and our approach to its development altogether,” Three Dots explained recently on Steam. “Over the past 1.5 years, our three-person team has reimagined every part of the game and re-created it. We redesigned all levels, many aspects of the gameplay, puzzles, change the visual style and effects, and most of the plot to make INTERPOINT better and more interesting.”
As it stands right now, INTERPOINT is a sci-fi adventure horror puzzle game in which players take on the role of Harry German, a scientist at Delta Labs, creators of the Quantum Entanglement Device, which opens portals to parallel universes. These worlds prove to be either near-exact copies of our own or surreal realms filled with unknown creatures—and when something goes wrong, German winds up far from home…
Encompassing the first three episodes, the update is set to release this month, with Three Dots noting that they plan to release the full version of the game (featuring six episodes in total) by the end of the year. Take a look at the teaser trailer below for a glimpse of the revamped game!
