Hidden in the Woods, the 2012 Chilean horror film from director Patricio Valladares, is getting a direct sequel! Variety reports that Germany’s 8-Films has acquired the US and German rights to the sequel, which Valladares will return to write and direct.
In Hidden in the Woods, two sisters live in isolation in the Chilean countryside, along with their brother, who was born with a physical deformity. When their abusive father is sent to prison, they flee to a remote cabin—but their crazed drug lord uncle is intent on tracking them down.
The upcoming sequel will be set 10 years after the horrific events of the 2012 original. Filming is slated to kick off early next year.
