So, it’s not a picture of Leatherface himself, but it is an image from the film and gives us our first look at the police who are pursuing young Leatherface. Leatherface is a prequel to the horror fan-favourite The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and gives us a look at what the masked killer was up to before he ran amok with a chainsaw.
Synopsis:
A teenage Leatherface escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates, kidnaps a young nurse and takes her on a road trip from hell. They are pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge.
Directed by French filmmakers Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury (Inside, Livid) means there are some high hopes surrounding the upcoming flick. The directing duo are already known for putting a huge stamp on the horror world with their wonderfully shot, gruesome and, at points, relentlessly terrifying films, so it would not be wrong to expect a solid entry in to the Texas Chainsaw franchise. Anything that will wash away the taste of Texas Chainsaw 3D would be greatly appreciated.
Leatherface stars Vanessa Grasse, Lili Taylor, Stephen Dorff, Nicole Andrews, Julian Kostov, Jessica Madsen, and Lorina Kamburova. The film is currently in post-production with a US release date slated for this year.
