“Enough… of this Michael Myers… BULLSHIT!”
He was one of the most detestable characters in the Halloween universe, but by all accounts, was a warm and funny man behind the scenes. So, we’re saddened to hear that actor Bradford English has passed away aged 82.
Undoubtedly best known for his villainous turn as John Strode in the sixth Halloween entry, English began his career on stage and screen over 20 years prior.
Beginning with a small role in 1971’s The Anderson Tape, English would work sporadically in features for the next four decades. Much more prolific on the small screen, English would guest on just about every popular television show there was.
From Kojack to The A Team, Dallas, and even Alien Nation, Bradford English appeared in over 100 episodes of syndicated television.
Although his most substantial role on the big screen remains 1995’s Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, the actor can also be glimpsed playing smaller parts in other high-profile projects.
English can be seen in small or supporting roles in the likes of 1989’s The Fabulous Baker Boys, 1992’s Basic Instinct, and 1994’s Wolf. However, he’ll undoubtedly always be remembered as the patriarch that pissed off Michael Myers so much, that the killer made his head explode.
Despite English’s last role being a 2010 appearance on Mad Men, he was a regular at the annual Halloween anniversary conventions.
Although not announced until November 30th, English passed away on October 25th 2024. No cause of death was given, and it remains unknown if the actor left any family behind. He was 82 years old.
