Details on the film are hard to come by at the moment, but we couldn’t let the day go by without bringing you Scream Fiends this awesome trailer for Death Car. Going for broke in the grindhouse throwback department, the trailer has already been sparking all-too-obvious comparisons to Death Proof, itself of course a love letter to that sleazy cinematic era of muscle cars and scenery-chewing psychopaths. In terms of the film’s commitment to exploitation mimicry though, it looks as though it will tread closer to the likes of Dear God, No!, taking everything to excess in an apparent attempt to out-grindhouse vintage grindhouse fare.
Death Car is directed by Daniel C. Dahlstrom, about whom information is scarce. He appears to be the director of a completed horror film called Pinwheel, which would make sense as it features in its cast Darren O’Brien, who stars in Death Car. I wish I could tell you more at this stage, but for now, sit back and enjoy these glorious two-and-a-half minutes of the mysterious Death Car.
