Just as we anticipated another 8 year wait for another Cloverfield film, the news breaks that we’ll be getting another addition much sooner. The film, titled God Particle, is currently in production with J. J. Abrams and will be released on 24th February 2017.
Julius Onah (The Girl is in Trouble) is set to direct with a script written by Oren Uziel and Doug Jung; none of whom worked on Cloverfield or 10 Cloverfield Lane. The cast will also be entirely new and will feature Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris O’Dowd, Daniel Bruhl, Ziyi Zhang and David Oyelowo.
Synopsis:
A shocking discovery forces a team of astronauts aboard a space station to fight for survival while their reality has been altered.
Considering the monetary success and both critical and audience positivity, it is no surprise to see that this franchise is far from over. From the above synopsis it seems as though the story will be venturing into an entirely new direction. This is definitely a brave and fascinating decision that has piqued our interest. Roll on 2017!
