We’re sure our readers are excited to see the lastest addition to the Texas Chainsaw franchise and while you wait to see Leatherface, here’s an exciting and very interesting behind-the-scenes featurette. At just over 5 minutes long it shows interviews with the film’s stars Lili Taylor (The Conjuring) and Stephen Dorff (Blade, The Iceman), as well as hearing from writer Seth M. Sherwood and co-directors Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury (Inside, Among the Living).
It’s fascinating to hear what drew the directors to the story and their appreciation of its difference to the 1974 original film. Their description of the film as a combination of Terence Malick’s Badlands and the Virgin Suicides is also a very intriguing blend.
Synopsis:
A teenage Leatherface escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates, kidnapping a young nurse and taking her on a road trip from hell while being pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge.
We thought Leatherface was a refreshing take on the iconic serial killer and we’re sure it’s going to have a lot of fans when it is released. Look out for our full review soon but, for now, check out the featurette below.
