Gary Oldman is to produce a new TV horror show called The Diabolic. The drama series is about an exorcist who falls in love with a single mother whose young son is possessed by an ancient entity with diabolic intentions that not only threaten the boy, but the very fate of mankind, Deadline reported. Oldman – who famously played Dracula in Francis Ford Coppola’s 1992 adaptation of the gothic horror story – will produce with partner Douglas Urbanski through their company Flying Studio as a joint venture with Entertainment One. This is Gary and Douglas’s first foray into TV producing. The pair previously produced Oscar-nominated film The Contender, which Gary also starred in. It is not known if he will appear in The Diabolic himself. Daniel Kay – whose previous work includes the 2007 horror movie Timber Falls – will write the pilot script based on his spec which initially attracted the interest of Entertainment One executives.
