It is with profound sadness that we report actress Lar Park Lincoln, best known for her role in Friday the 13th VII, has passed away.
Born Laurie Jill Park on May 12th 1961, Lincoln’s first on-screen role came at the age of 24, in the television movie Children of Night.
In 1987, she appeared in the horror-comedy sequel House II: The Second Story.
However, Lincoln’s most well-known role came the following year, when she was cast as Tina Shepherd in 1988’s Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood. Playing a teenager with an uncontrollable telekinetic gift, Lincoln’s character unwittingly unleashes Jason Voorhees from his grave with her power. She then uses her gift to fight back, becoming one of the most formidable foes the hockey-masked killer has ever faced.
For her performance, Lincoln was warmly embraced by the Friday fandom, and is often cited as one of the series’ favourite “final girl” characters. Due to this popularity, she was a regular on the horror convention circuit, and appeared in Friday the 13th fan films 13 Fanboy and Rosebud.
Although she continued to work sporadically in features, Lincoln’s most prolific work was on the small screen. She appeared as Linda Fairgate in 48 episodes of the soap opera Knots Landing, a role which also won her a plethora of fans.
Lincoln also had a prominent role in Incident on Lot 7, a fan favourite episode of Murder, She Wrote. This time, Angela Lansbury’s Jessica Fletcher is forced to get to the bottom of a mystery, when a dead body is found in the famous Psycho house on the Universal lot.
Lincoln moved away from acting in 1995 following the passing of her husband Michael, opting to move to Dallas, Texas and focus on her family. In the years since, Lar penned Get Started, Not Scammed, a book advising the reader of which career steps to take to have a fruitful career in the industry.
Similarly, Lar created and maintained American Audition Studios, a company offering acting coaching and advice. She would maintain this until her death.
Lar Park Lincoln passed away on April 22nd 2025. No cause of death was given, but the actress had battled recurrent breast cancer since 2008.
Lincoln is survived by her two children with late husband Michael. She was 63 years old.
