28 of the UK’s top SFX artists and prop makers have been brought together to take part in The Monster Charity Project 2017, which will see each of them customise a bespoke, “Frankenstein-inspired” bust. The artists are given the simple instruction: “Customise him into any design you like.”
The completed busts will be donated back to the Monster Charity Project organisers who will then auction them off online. 100% of the proceeds raised will be donated to the UK’s Make-A-Wish Foundation. All the artists and the back room project crew donate their time and skills totally free of charge.
Before they are auctioned off, the busts will be touring a number of UK conventions, where several of their creators will be present to talk with fans. From May, images of the busts will be shared over social media, with the auctioning taking place from October 31st and ending November 5th.
Last year the project team raised an impressive £28,000 for Make-A-Wish at Star Wars Celebration London with customised Star Wars helmets.
Keep up with the project’s progress at their Facebook page.
