Young star of The Florida Project, Brooklynn Prince, has joined the cast of the supernatural horror film The Turning. The actress shone in Sean Baker’s award-winning drama, so it’s great to see her making a move to our side of the genre fence.
The Turning comes from director Floria Sigismondi, who has directed episodes of Daredevil, The Handmaid’s Tale and American Gods. The script has been written by Carey and Chad Hayes (The Conjuring, The Conjuring 2, The Crucifixion) and is a modern take on Henry James’ novella The Turn of the Screw. The story follows a young governess who is hired to look after a man’s nephew and niece, after their parents’ deaths.
The Turning additionally stars It’s Finn Wolfward, Black Mirror and Blade Runner 2049’s Mackenzie Davis and newcomer Kazi Maubert, who is also set to feature in the upcoming sequel Maze Runner: The Death Cure.
Production on The Turning is set to begin early this year, so keep your eyes peeled for more soon.
