I do love a good haunted house flick and The Diabolical looks to be offering an original take on this horror formula. From the trailer, which you can see below, it seems like a more complex and refreshing spin on the genre we are all becoming very familiar with. There’s more going on than just a usual haunting and the trailer doesn’t actually let us see very much. It leaves a lot to the imagination, hopefully steering away from showing us all the best bits. It ticks a few of the typical boxes; floating objects, flashing lights and mysteriously opening doors all make an appearance, but there is definitely something to get excited about here.
Patrick Fishcler’s character looks wonderfully sinister, he’s definitely hiding something. It looks beautifully shot, with plenty of sci-fi blues and slow zooming to create tension. Also, If you like jarring flashing lights then you’re going to love this. Take a look at the trailer below and make up your own mind, but my instincts say this should be a good’un.
The Diabolical also stars Ali Larter and will be released on October 16th 2015.
