If you’re dying to know how Wayward Pines is going to continue after its shocking finale last year, then this video may answer a few of your questions. Season 2 will pick up where the last season left off and finds Jason Higgins (Tom Stevens) in charge of the town. Gone is Matt Dillon – sadly – but in his place we have Jason Patric (The Lost Boys, The Abandoned) as Dr. Theo Yedlin who will be the front and centre of this new season.
The sneak peak features Blake Crouch who ensures us that the second season will be strong as he describes his pact with M. Night Shyamalan and their promise to only explore the story further if they have something great to tell. The story focuses on Dr. Theo and his wife’s tenuous marriage as they first arrive in Wayward Pines. The town is now in the midst of a civil war, so far from the quiet, peaceful –yet, obviously a tad sinister – location we were taken to at the beginning of the first season.
This shift in tone sounds promising and further suggests that a lot of thought has gone in to this new story. Re-telling the same events with different characters would be a travesty, so we look forward to M. Night Shyamalan and co. keeping their promise and bringing us something great, again.
Wayward Pines returns to our screens on Fox on 25th May.
