It’s been almost four years since Jamie Lee Curtis said goodbye to her iconic character Laurie Strode in the divisive Halloween Ends.
However, leaving the Halloween series behind didn’t mean Curtis was exiting the horror genre for good. As we reported last year, Curtis was attached to produce and star in the psychological horror film Sender.
Now, we have our first look at Curtis in the film.
Donning a red wig, Curtis ditches the glamour and looks decidedly sinister in a newly released still.
Alongside Curtis, Sender stars Britt Lower, Rhea Seehorn, Anna Baryshnikov, David Dastmalchian, and Mike Mitchell.
Lower plays Julia, a young woman trying to rebuild her life and hold on to her sobriety. In a bid to make her new apartment into a home, Julia begins to order items frequently from shopping site Smirk. However, packages begin arriving Julia hasn’t ordered, and seem tied to a past she wants to forget. Determined to find out who is tormenting her, Julia risks her safety to unmask the sender.
Sender is written and directed by Russell Goldman, based on his 2022 short Return to Sender. Curtis produces via her Comet Pictures label, alongside Goldman, Molly Hallam, and Jake Katofsky.
Sender premiered to its first audience at this year’s SXSW Festival in Texas. However, the movie doesn’t currently have a release date for general audiences.
We’ll let you know when that changes, so watch this space!
