Whether you love him or hate him, no one can deny that Lars von Trier (Antichrist, Nymphomaniac I-II) is one of the most noteworthy directors of all time. Controversy, shock and surprise follow his films like a lost puppy, so we always have our eye on what the Danish film-maker is up to next.
Lars von Trier is setting his sights on the slasher genre with The House That Jack Built, which will be told from the perspective of a killer called Jack, played by Matt Dillon, over 10-12 years. We will follow Jack as a police intervention edges closer, threatening to put an end to his artwork of murder.
The first image from the film is a tribute to Vampyr from fellow Danish director Carl Theodor Dreyer, if you didn’t guess already. Check it out below.
The House That Jack Built additionally stars Bruno Ganz and has a release date planned for 2018.
