Blumhouse and director Keith Thomas (The Vigil) are teaming up to create a fresh take on Stephen King’s novel Firestarter—and the film has found its Charlie, the role played by Drew Barrymore in the 1984 adaptation.
Ryan Kiera Armstrong (It Chapter 2) will star as Charlie, a young girl who develops pyrokinetic abilities and is abducted by a secret government agency that wants to harness her powerful gift as a weapon. Get your first look at the character above!
Another new addition to the cast is Gloria Reuben (Mr. Robot). She joins previously announced cast members Zac Efron (Extremely Wicked, Shocking Evil and Vile) and Michael Greyeyes (Blood Quantum).
Scott Teems (Halloween Kills) penned this new adaptation, which comes to us from Universal Pictures, Blumhouse Productions, and Weed Road Productions. Filming is currently underway.
