Fiona Dourif (Curse of Chucky, Cult of Chucky) will be starring in CBS All Access’ adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand, which is expected to release in late 2020.
Dourif will be playing “Rat Woman,” a take on “Rat Man” from King’s 1978 novel. The character was played by Rick Aviles in the 1994 miniseries.
In The Stand, the survivors of a deadly super-flu that has wiped out most of the world’s population split into two warring factions. Leading the charge for good is Mother Abagail (Whoopi Goldberg), a 108-year-old woman who draws survivors to her via their dreams. The embodiment of evil is Randall Flagg, a nightmarish being with unspeakable powers who hungers for death and destruction.
CBS’s adaptation includes a new ending provided by King himself. Josh Boone (The New Mutants) co-wrote and is directing the 10-episode series.
