With the fourth season of Stranger Things in the bag, Finn Wolfhard is setting his sights on his next big project. The actor, who made his directorial debut in 2020 with the short film Night Shifts, will be co-writing and co-directing a horror-comedy slasher movie called Hell of a Summer alongside his Ghostbusters: Afterlife co-star Billy Bryk.
While plot details for Hell of a Summer are completely under wraps, we do know that both Wolfhard and Bryk will star in the film. Fred Hechinger (Fear Street: Part One – 1994) is also in the cast.
“I am so excited to be co-directing my first feature film,” Wolfhard said in a statement. “I get the chance to work with an incredible cast and crew, and to work with a company like 30West and Aggregate is a real dream.”
Producers on Hell of a Summer include Hechinger, Aggregate Films’ Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan, and Parts and Labor’s Jay Van Hoy. Principal photography kicks off in Ontario, Canada later this month.
