“Witness the birth of death…”
It has felt like a long time coming, but we finally have our first full trailer for Final Destination: Bloodlines.
The sixth entry in the wildly popular horror franchise, it looks as though this entry will finally explain how this endless death loop began.
First showing us a family barbecue, things immediately go awry, as multiple hazards are observed amongst the festivities. Glass falls into drinks, a trampoline threatens to split, and a lawnmower perches ominously.
Following a brutal death, the trailer kicks into gear, explaining that this seemingly perfect family has a dark secret.
We are then taken back to the 1960’s, where we witness a young woman experience a vision. Saving several people from a catastrophe at the Seattle Space Needle, she unknowingly sets in motion a decades long nightmare.
Back in the present, the family’s grandmother explains that she’d tried to keep her family safe from death for decades, but now, it has finally caught up. Every tragedy from Flight 180 and beyond happened because of her.
Amongst quick cuts of action and carnage, we get a glimpse of the late Tony Todd as William Bludworth. In his final on-screen appearance, the actor implores us to embrace death if we want to survive it.
Seemingly a non-stop adrenaline ride, the trailer has received universally positive reviews.
Final Destination: Bloodlines comes to us from filmmakers Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, and stars Teo Briones, Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Richard Harmon, and Brec Bassinger.
Looking like the perfect way to ring in the series’ 25th anniversary, Bloodlines will hit screens on May 14th in the UK, and May 16th elsewhere.
