From creators Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House) and Leah Fong (Once Upon a Time), Netflix’s upcoming series The Midnight Club has officially begun filming!
The series, which is based on Christopher Pike’s 1994 novel of the same name, follows a group of terminally ill teenagers at a hospice who start gathering at midnight to tell scary stories. They eventually form a pact: whoever dies first will contact the others from beyond the grave.
A clapboard photo shared by Flanagan on Twitter confirms that he will be directing at least one episode of The Midnight Club. The cast includes horror icon Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street) alongside Adia, Igby Rigney (Midnight Mass), Ruth Codd, William Chris Sumpter (Power), Aya Furukawa (The Terror), Annarah Shephard (Midnight Mass), Sauriyan Sapkota, Zach Gilford (The Purge: Anarchy), Samantha Sloyan (Hush), and Matt Biedel (Phoenix Forgotten).
Flanagan and Fong will also serve as executive producers on the series alongside Trevor Macy and Julia Bicknell. Writers include Elan Gale, James Flanagan, and Chinaka Hodge.
