David F. Sandberg is currently in pre-production on his sequel to the disappointing Annabelle, but before that one gets underway, we have Lights Out to enjoy. It looks and sounds suitably spooky as it follows a young boy and his sister who see a terrifying woman lurking in the shadows when the lights are out. I’d suggest that they keep the lights on forever, but it doesn’t seem as though it will be that simple.
You can check out the international one-sheet for the film (right), which gives you an idea of the terrors that are waiting in the darkness. Also, have a gander at the trailer below as it warns us that we were right to be scared of the dark. It features an unbearable amount of dread and a couple of effective jump scares.
Lights Out will be produced by James Wan and stars Teresa Palmer, Gabriel Bateman and Alexander DiPersia. The film will haunt cinemas on 22nd July in the USA and 19th August 2016, so prepare yourselves for one scary summer.
