Just a couple of weeks back, we were overjoyed, to say the least, when we got word that Scott Lyus’ perturbing psychological horror short, Silently Within Your Shadow had been picked up for distribution on Amazon Prime. Well, the good news doesn’t end there.
SCREAM readers may well remember a news piece we ran back in July last year to announce the launch of an IndieGoGo campaign looking for potential backers for Lyus’ latest project called Echoes of the Passed which said helmer assured would “defy all the rules to leave the audience with an overwhelming feeling of fear after the credits cut.” Cutting a long story short, the IndieGoGo campaign was an astounding success, so much so that Scream can now provide you with the exclusive trailer for the completed short.
Sticking to his initial promise, Echoes of the Passed steers well clear of often-overused tropes so as to create an unnerving and alternative look at the reality of the paranormal, taking the audience on a character-driven story. Starring Sophie Tergeist, Paul Dewdney, Mac McFadden and Tony Sands, Lyus’ short follows a team which, whilst investigating the bizarre disappearance of two innocent children in a supposedly spiritually alive mansion, uncover secrets darker than they could have ever fathomed….
