Cornish-set Enys Men has released an unsettling trailer that looks like the offspring of a classic folk horror film and a “cursed” lost tape.
In Enys Men, “A wildlife volunteer on an uninhabited island off the British coast descends into a terrifying madness that challenges her grip on reality and pushes her into a living nightmare.”
Written and directed by Mark Jenkin (Bait), Enys Men was “shot on 16mm colour negative using a 1970s clockwork Bolex camera and post sync sound. This was to achieve the feeling of discovering a reel of never-before-seen celluloid unspooling in a desolate, haunted movie palace.”
Enys Men was based on an original story idea by Jenkin and Adrian Bailey. Mary Woodvine and Edward Rowe star in the film, which has yet to receive an official release date.
While we wait, check out the unmissable trailer below!
