Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse) is working on a remake of Nosferatu, and The Crown star Emma Corrin has signed on to star!
They join the previously announced Willem Dafoe (Shadow of the Vampire), Nicholas Hoult (The Menu), Lily-Rose Depp (Silent Night), and Bill Skarsgård (It), the latter of whom will reportedly play Count Orlok. Deadline notes that “Corrin’s role has not been disclosed.”
According to Deadline, “In the new reimagining, the pic is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman (Depp) in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgard) who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him.” Eggars wrote the script and will direct.
The original Nosferatu was directed by F.W. Murnau and released in 1922. Werner Herzog directed his own version, Nosferatu the Vampyre, in 1979.
