For those of you who prefer your eco-horror sci-fi with heavy doses of coming-of-age drama and allegoric narratives then newcomer Bradon R. Duemmler’s directorial debut, ‘What Lies Below’ is a film you won’t want to miss this week.
Starring Ema Horvath (The Mortuary Collection, “The Lord of the Rings”), Trey Tucker (The Outpost) and Mena Suvari (American Beauty, “American Horror Show”), the film follows Liberty (Horvath), a socially awkward teenager who heads to the family cabin by the lake with her mother after two months at camp only to be welcomed with a blindsided introduction of her Mother’s fiancé, John Smith (Tucker). As charming and intelligent as he comes across, something is definitely off about this picture of a man who’s too perfect to be human.
As ‘What Lies Below’ becomes available today both on both demand and digital, we caught up with actress Ema Horvath who talked about working alongside an inhumanly charming antagonist and doing her best to stay in character whilst working with tank upon tank of slimy eels…
