The fog-shrouded world of Dead by Daylight has snared more horror icons than any other genre video game. As well as creating iconic villains of their own, the game has managed to secure the rights to characters from Halloween, Saw, Stranger Things, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Scream and A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Now Dead by Daylight are adding two more members of horror’s royal family to their roster with the addition of Alien’s Ellen Ripley and her arch nemesis The Xenomorph.

To illustrate what’s in store for us, the game makers uploaded a simply stunning trailer to their YouTube channel ahead of the DLC package’s August 29th release.

In a perfect rendering of her 1979 visage, we witness Ellen Ripley rise from a Cryo-Stasis tube. After briefly checking on her beloved cat Jones, she goes to look upon just where she has crash landed. Here we get a stunning rendering of the eerie and hostile planet LV-426 as Ripley makes her way to a mysterious ship.

After forcing her way inside and discovering the horribly mutilated body of one unfortunate soul, a familiar slimy foe reveals itself. From here we get some near-perfect recreations of the tense final chase sequences from Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic… and even a nod to that one iconic moment in 1992’s Alien 3.

Ending on a perfect note that sees Ripley cornered and the Xenomorph pounce from the darkness, the trailer will certainly get fans hyped for this newest addition.

The content will release on August 29th and has already received raves from the lucky few selected to participate in technical trials. You can check out the stunning trailer below, happy gaming!
