“There will be no leftovers…”
Whereas the first short teaser for Eli Roth’s highly-anticipated Thanksgiving kept things brief and aped the tradition of Hallmark holiday movies, its final trailer is a different beast altogether.
With much more plot disclosure and a satisfying taste of the gore on offer, Thanksgiving looks set to become the ultimate Turkey Day slasher.
Hinting at some dissension within the small town noted for their Thanksgiving festivities, we meet our cast for the first time. Addison Rae bemoans that everyone “pretends” to be happy around the holidays, despite this town having a sinister past.
Someone in a pilgrim outfit with a trusty axe is seen sharpening their tools as a trembling woman is splayed upon a table… She’s all set to be carved up like the juiciest holiday bird.
The teens of the small town are seen receiving taunting texts from our killer, as the police uncover that all the implements of death are used to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner. Of note is a quick cut that shows adorable corn holders being rammed into one poor victim’s ears…
Ending with a gruesome shot of a woman roasting alive inside a stove, Thanksgiving promises brutality and a classic whodunit that will undoubtedly see more than just the turkey carved.
Thanksgiving stars Addison Rae, Milo Manheim, Patrick Dempsey, and Gina Gershon. The film is set to be released November 17th 2023 by Tri-Star Pictures and Spyglass Media.
