After a month in U.S. theatres, IFC and Shudder’s Clown in a Cornfield is now available to watch at home!
Eli Craig’s adaption of Adam Cesare’s book of the same name grossed a respectable $8.3 million for IFC, against a budget of only $1 million, and this profit likely contributed to the early PVOD release.
Clown in a Cornfield follows Quinn Maybrook, as she moves to the desolate town of Kettle Springs. Formerly booming due to its thriving corn syrup business, the town has fallen on hard times. Even with their iconic Frendo the Clown mascot, it seems Kettle Springs can’t catch a break. However, things take an even darker turn when Frendo emerges from the surrounding corn with an arsenal of weapons, and a group of local teens in his sights!
The news of Clown in a Cornfield hitting at home markets in the US comes only a week after the film made its debut in the UK and across Europe. Strong word-of-mouth from its US run has seen the film become more popular than expected, garnering an additional $2 million so far.
Clown in a Cornfield is currently available to rent or buy on all good PVOD platforms. The film has already demonstrated some impressive chops, debuting within the top ten on all platforms, despite fierce competition.
