A few years ago, Warner Bros. revealed they were remaking the classic creepy musical Little Shop of Horrors, with Matthew Robinson and Greg Berlanti set to write and direct respectively. If you were hungry for some news on that project, you’re in luck: Taron Egerton (Rocketman, Kingsman: The Secret Service) is reportedly in talks to star.
The musical, which began life off-broadway, centres around a meek florist, Seymour, who is in love with his coworker Audrey, a woman trapped in an abusive relationship with a sadistic dentist. A talking plant helps him find success and romance, but at a cost—it has an insatiable thirst for human blood.
If Egerton stars, it’s likely to be in the lead role of Seymour. It’s also been reported that Scarlett Johansson has been offered the role of Audrey and that Billy Porter is being eyed as the voice of Audrey II.
