An intense and dramatic teaser trailer has been unleashed for Black Fawn Films’ The Heretics to celebrate the film’s world première this Wednesday 22nd March at the Canadian Film Festival in Toronto.
Coming from director Chad Archibald (The Drownsman, Bite), we are expecting The Heretics to be another boundary-pushing, shocking and extreme horror film. The story follows a woman who is kidnapped by a sole survivor of cult, being told that a demon has been harvested inside her and is set to rise before the dawn.
Synopsis:
A notorious cult kidnaps a young girl, and sacrifice themselves by the light of the locust moon. The next morning the girl awakes, caked in dried blood and surrounded by corpses…but safe – or so she thinks. Years later, the locust moon is about to rise again and the girl is captured once more by a surviving member of the cult. She is taken to a remote cabin where she learns that a demon has been growing inside of her all these years, and before the dawn it will rise.
The Heretics has been written by Jayme Laforest (Gods of Accident, Bite) and stars Nina Kiri, Jorja Cadence, Ry Barret.
If you’re catching The Heretics at the Canadian Film Festival we hope you enjoy it and that it delivers the thrills and scares promised in the short and sweet teaser. The rest of us will hopefully be able to get our hands on the film later this year.
