One of our favourite films to screen at the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival last year, queer horror-thriller Spiral hits Shudder later this month—and the trailer shows a seemingly idyllic situation rapidly spiralling out of control.
The film follows Malik (Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman) and Aaron (Ari Cohen), a same-sex couple who move to a small town in search of a better environment for them and their 16-year-old daughter (Jennifer Laporte). But nothing is as it seems—and something sinister lies behind the picturesque homes and welcoming faces of their new neighbours.
Kurtis David Harder (Incontrol) directed the film, which was written by Colin Minihan (Grave Encounters, What Keeps You Alive) and John Poliquin (Chilling Visions: 5 States of Fear). The cast also includes Lochlyn Munro (Scary Movie), Ty Wood (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), and Chandra West (White Noise).
Spiral arrives on Shudder in the US, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand on September 17th. Watch the chilling trailer below.
