After leaving us breathless with his chilling performance in Don’t Breathe, Stephen Lang is returning to the genre as the star of new action-horror flick V.F.W.
Penned by Max Brallier and Matthew McArdle and directed by Joe Begos (Almost Human, The Mind’s Eye), the film will see Lang playing a Vietnam vet trying to defend the local VFW post (and an innocent teenager) from a crazed drug dealer and his army of punk mutants. If the phrase “punk mutants” didn’t already have you hooked, V.F.W has also been described as The Wild Bunch meets Night of the Living Dead.
Lang recently confirmed that a Don’t Breathe sequel is in the works, with director Fede Alvarez and producer Sam Raimi teasing that it will focus more on the Blind Man character. Lang’s role in the 2016 film proved that he can kick some serious ass, so it will be fun to see him playing a character that we can (presumably) root for in V.F.W.
V.F.W. is slated to begin filming in Dallas this month.
