DISNEY+ DROPS FULL TRAILER FOR “GOOSEBUMPS” TELEVISION REBOOT

Posted on: September 26th, 2023

Just last week we brought you the news that Disney+ and Hulu had decided on a date to premiere the brand-new Goosebumps television reboot. Now we have the very first trailer, so you can get the first hint of what’s in store October 13th.

Looking rich on atmosphere, the trailer introduces us to Justin Long’s Nathan Brad as he begins a new chapter in an eerie looking fishing town. Taking up residence in “the old Biddle house,” both he and the audience soon learn that one of the town’s darkest chapters occurred there.

Now it seems the spirit of long-dead teen Harold Biddle wants revenge, and is happy to use Nathan, and some very cursed items in the home’s basement, to get it. Targeting the children of those he deems responsible for his demise, bizarre events soon begin to befall them, all centring around an item recovered from Harold’s former home.

Looking very story-driven, this TV update takes many cues from the recent feature adaptions of R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps books. Here, instead of having each book be adapted into its own stand-alone episode, it appears multiple elements of the classic tales are woven into this brand-new story and are used to propel the plot forward.

Eagle-eyed Goosebumps fans will no doubt spot the tie-ins featured heavily in the trailer that revolve around Stine’s tales Say Cheese and Die and Night of the Living Dummy. What other Goosebumps favourites will pop up to terrorize this new generation of teens? Well, you’ll have to tune in and find out! We will be!

Goosebumps will premiere on Disney+ on October 13th, with 5 more weekly episodes to follow. The remaining 6 episodes will be streamed weekly on their sister service Hulu.
