The trailer for Pet Sematary has finally landed and it teases a twisty and terrifying tale of the dead returning from the grave. As we know, dead is definitely and undoubtedly better.
The trailer looks brilliant and surprisingly reminiscent of this year’s horror hit Hereditary and its mind-boggling visuals and trippy editing. It certainly looks like it’s going to be the creepy, nightmarish adaptation we’ve been hoping for. Check it out below.
The new re-telling will be directed by Starry Eyes’ Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch, from a script written by David Kajganich and Jeff Buhler (Midnight Meat Train).
Described by Stephen King as “the most frightening book I’ve ever written,” his 1983 novel Pet Sematary tells the tale of Louis and Rachel Creed, who discover the re-animating properties of an Indian burial ground behind their new house. Louis decides to bring back their daughter Ellie’s cat after it is killed on the road, but when a horrible tragedy strikes the family, they find out that “sometimes, dead is better.”
Paramount will release Pet Sematary on 5th April 2019.
