It seems nothing is impossible when it comes to Scream 7.
With the announcement that former Ghostface actors Scott Foley and Matthew Lillard would return to the series, fans knew nothing was off limits.
Now, although plot details are being kept tightly guarded, we’ve learned that a third character will be returning from the dead.
David Arquette will reprise his much beloved role of Dewey Riley in the upcoming seventh Scream entry.
Previously, Arquette had starred alongside Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox in the first five instalments. However, 2022’s reboot saw the character killed off, in a heroic sacrifice, as he attempted to shield leads Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera.
Despite the character’s death deemed necessary to “raise the stakes,” fans mourned the loss of the beloved Deputy.
Now, Arquette joins a plethora of returning faces in Scream 7.
Although fans are eager to see Dewey back for good, a reliable source tells us that all previous deaths will remain canon in Scream 7… So, just how are several characters going to appear from beyond the grave?
We have no idea, but we’re excited to find out.
Scream 7 is expected to wrap filming soon, with the film scheduled for a February 27th 2026 release. Although plot details remain under wraps, we’ll be on the lookout for any further updates.
