Even after the “Dark Universe” turned into a bit of a joke, Universal Studios still has its sights set on resurrecting the classic monsters in its vaults. In addition to Blumhouse and Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man, we’ll soon see more Universal Monsters shambling onto our screens in Dark Army, a monster movie to be written and directed by Paul Feig (Ghostbusters, A Simple Favor).
Not a lot is known about the project at this time, but it’s said to be based on an original idea by Feig, who will also produce the film with Laura Fischer. Both classic Universal Monsters and original characters created by Feig will be featured, though it’s not clear yet how this will tie into the Universal Monster universe.
