DANNY ELFMAN TEASES HE WILL SCORE BEETLEJUICE 2

Posted on: May 8th, 2023

After years of false stars and broken promises, it finally seems Beetlejuice 2 is going full-steam ahead at Warner Bros. Composer Danny Elfman confirmed this past week that he will return to score the sequel and dropped several exciting hints about the film’s content.

“It’s perfect, you know? Everybody else has to play the next generation, except for Michael [Keaton]. I mean, he’s still like really fit and really active and really on it. And with the Beetlejuice makeup, I can’t even imagine it’s going to look like he’s changed practically at all. So, I can’t wait for that.”

Elfman also added that he “cannot wait” to return to the world of Beetlejuice, and Burton’s filmmaking in general, as he loves being “a fly on the wall” when Burton directs.

Elfman’s hints come after the confirmation that both Burton and Keaton will return for the sequel, putting many fans at ease. Furthermore, it has been rumoured for many months that Wednesday and Scream star Jenna Ortega has been approached for the lead role.

Ortega will reportedly play the daughter of Lydia Deetz, a role made iconic by actress Winona Ryder in the 1988 original. There is still no confirmation of Ryder’s return to the world of Beetlejuice, which would assuredly delight fans. Similarly, it is unknown if original actors Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin have been approached for a return.

Reports suggest Beetlejuice 2 will film in London very soon, with more updates expected along the way. We will keep abreast of developments for you.
