With September’s end, we’re much closer to Terrifier 3 hitting theatres. Easily one of the most anticipated genre releases of the year, Damien Leone’s Christmas-set slasher will see Art the Clown receive his first wide theatrical release.
With the franchise seemingly getting bigger with every new entry, it’s no surprise that the future of the series was a hot topic at Terrifier’s Fantastic Fest premiere.
Asked if he intended on expanding the Terrifier brand with a fourth movie, Damien Leone curtly responded:
“Yes, there will be a ‘Terrifier 4.’”
Well, that sounds pretty definitive… How can we argue with that?
Terrifier 3 will see the return of legacy cast members Lauren LaVera, Elliott Fullam, David Howard Thornton, and Samantha Scaffidi. Joining them will be an ensemble cast of recognisable faces including Jason Patric, Chris Jericho, Daniel Roebuck, and Jon Abrahams.
This time, Art will terrorise the residents of Miles County on Christmas Eve, with LaVera’s Sienna Shaw believing only she can stop his rampage. However, new, and terrifying dangers lie in her way.
Despite receiving a somewhat mixed response following its Fantastic Fest premiere, Terrifier 3 is expected to gross $5-10 million on its opening weekend. This will easily recoup the film’s meagre $2 million budget, leaving the door wide open for a sequel.
