The CW is developing a one-hour drama based on The Revelations of ‘Becka Paulson, a short story by Stephen King that was originally published in 1984 in Rolling Stone. The story was previously adapted into an episode of The Outer Limits in 1997.
The story follows the titular character after she accidentally shoots herself in the brain with a nail gun. Recruited by an over-the-top Jesus to be his “chosen one” in stopping the apocalypse, Paulson must prove that the deeply flawed planet is redeemable—starting with her quirky midwestern hometown.
Currently titled Revelations, this adaptation comes from Maisie Culver, Katie Lovejoy, and Warner Bros. TV. Culver is writing and will also executive produce alongside Lovejoy.
