Not too long ago we reported that Chucky actor Callum Vinson had been cast as a young Jason Voorhees in Peacock’s Crystal Lake series.
Upon hearing this, we assumed that the “extended prequel” series to Friday the 13th wouldn’t extend beyond the vengeful killing sprees of Jason’s mother Pamela Voorhees.
However, it appears we were incorrect, as now, we can confirm that the role of an adult Jason Voorhees has been cast.
25-year-old actor and stuntman Zachary Branch will portray an adult version of the iconic slasher killer in Crystal Lake. Branch has provided acting work in television shows including Blue Bloods, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, and No Rest for the Wicked. With countless projects listed as “in production,” it appears Branch is in demand as both an actor and stunt professional.
Branch will join fellow multi-talented performers to embody the role of Jason Voorhees, including Richard Brooker, Ted White, C.J. Graham, and of course, the legendary Kane Hodder.
In further information we’ve received, we can also reveal the titles of the first two episodes of Crystal Lake. According to a reliable source, the premiere episode will be entitled The Great Pretender, whilst the second will be called Are You Experienced? However, no plot details have emerged regarding these episodes.
Currently filming in East Milford and Ringwood, New Jersey, Crystal Lake is expected to premiere around spring-summer 2026.
Scooby Doo star Linda Cardellini stars as Pamela Voorhees, mother to Jason, who enacts violent revenge following her son’s tragic death.
In addition to Cardellini, the cast also includes William Catlett, Cameron Scoggins, Devin Kessler, Phoenix Parnevik, and Danielle Kotch also star.
Black Sails and IT: Welcome to Derry showrunner Brad Caleb Kane will oversee Crystal Lake, as well as penning several episodes.
